Radio Silence

Been quiet 'round here. Sorry. Some sudden events found me arranging a quick flight to northern climes. Stories forthcoming—such as how you too(!) might be selected for "extra screening." Also: did you know there are certain kinds of lotion whose residue on your laptop can set of the explosives detector?! Me neither! But there are!

Lastly: did my cob-logger leave the country again? If so, sorry I missed your going-away. Happy trails, compadre. Don't forget to write.

Ryan's going-away included Lady's b-day, which included bustin' caps, racist monuments, and flying spatulas. Hopefully he'll fill in the details once he lands in Middle Earth.

Sorry you got detained on the way north. I'm surprised they let you blog from Guantanamo.

What do you expect with those mutton chops?

Plus, you are in the company of the lovely eekbeat? That is suspicious enough for at least a week of detention.

Actually, you knave, the beard was trimmed to appropriate, patriotic levels two days prior to take-off. And I was wearing a suit. Like a good red-blooded American.

will's right. the beard was beginning to look a little too unabomber-y.

i know you're not writing thousand-page manifestos railing against the technological advances of our society, cause that would be hypocritical, what with typing it up on your macbook and iPod touch.

the high-school dropouts working for TSA, though, aren't likely to give you the benefit of the doubt. ;-)

I too was thinking "well duh, beard."

But the lotion explosives thing is just way, way stupid. We need to start a nationwide boycott of air travel, is what we need to do. Who's with me??

B: I appreciate your enthusiasm, and I share your desire to stick it to the man. But I've seen the traffic numbers, and I suspect the comments section on this blog is perhaps not the best place to foment support for your boycott plans. But hey, fuck it. I'm with you. Boycott!
