Hello, Neighbor

The constellation Orion is currently positioned at around 75° above the horizon from my vantage point on the front stoop of my house. It seemed particularly bright tonight, and I was trying to estimate its position while talking on the phone out front. I extended my arm to 90°, then 45°, then in between the two points, repeating this manœuver several times in rapid succession.

At this point, I realize my neighbor was watching me with a puzzled expression. I can't help but assume he thought I was practicing my best Heil Heetler salute.

Sorry, neighbor. I promise I'm a loyal Amurickan with no hard feelings about the outcome of the Second World War. For real. I was just looking at stars, man.

(Oh, and I'll cut the grass soon. I swear.)

Regardless your political or astrological views...it still makes you a wee bit off the normal path.

If it's that neighbor who's absurdly anal about people [read: your friends] parking in front of any part of his "territory"--in fact, you could say he is unlawfully occupying the public street in front of his house--if its your nazi neighbor, then he should feel right at home. If not, you should apologize by playing a game of Dreidel on your front porch tonight.

Hey want to see an awesome, awesome graphic of the nebula in Orion's belt? Here is one. It is my desktop wallpaper since last week.

Mr. Feeble: My view on astrology is that astrology is a bunch of hogwash. Still, you should come have a beer on my front porch. The stars look great.

LC: Different neighbor. Can you bring the dreidel? Mr. Feeble will be bringing the beer. It can be an event!

TMK: Ooh, lovely images. That second one is really awesome.

Stanley -- my standard method for finding wallpaper graphics is to enter "nebula" into Google images search and then select "Large images" from their dropdown box.
