On Our Recent Acquisitions
I don't know whether to be more elated by the recent steal-of-a-find purchase of a barely used $200 snare drum for the low, low cost of $80, or to be more discomfited by the subsequent purchase of a case for said drum for $89.

Yeah, shit happens. The case would have still been $89 even if you had paid full price for the drum. (Right? I'm assuming the $200 price tag does not include a case. If it does, $80 for drum sans case does not seem like such an awesome deal.) I bought a low-cost Chinese viola ($130!) but will need to lay out for a better case than the one it came with sometime soon.
Yeah, it really was a steal on the snare (which is serving as a backup), and a decent price on the case (from a different retailer). I'm mostly just whining here.
