Not a plebiscite

In the Charlottesville City Council elections, I'm leaning Galvin, Huja, and Collins. Galvin's good on bikes. Huja's a veteran of city politics with a solid record. And Collins is a smart person who's not afraid of the word "socialism."

Plus you get to vote against the person who works at Slate.

Today I learned one of those random facts I should like to commit to memory: that the world has a circumference of around 25,000 miles. That seems like a good one to keep handy. Just in case.
